By | February 16, 2015

Recruiters will ask you “what was your salary at your last position?” Listener of the show, Shawn, writes

“What’s the best way for a job seeker to handle the “what are your salary requirements?”
I’m attaching a link to a recent article on LinkedIn that argues for politely refusing to give out your salary history, but instead be up front about your salary requirements. I’d love to hear your take on this. How many jobs would I remove myself from the running for if I took that advice?

The article was written by Liz Ryan, CEO Founder, Human Workplace. I go over some of the details that Liz outlines in the article. I agree with much of what Liz is addressing, but I don’t necessarily agree with how she frames it up.
Recruiters, how do you handle salary with a candidate and why?
Candidates, salary is a part of the deal, how would you like to see recruiters handle this topic with you?
